• TSAA Indoor Championships Wrap Up

Thanks to everyone for attending this event!

Several records were broken, most notably in the U18 recurve male division. Ethan Chan shot a 579 on Saturday, breaking the previous record of 576 held by Andrew Mantle and G.Braendle. Only to have that score shattered by Caelan Shanklin with a 582. I have a few more records to announce as well. Harley Kenney shot a 285 for a new 30 arrow record! Belinda Hale Longbow, Female, 50+, 228 for 30 arrows, 440 for 60 arrows.

We also have to talk about a little bit of confusion on the Sunday morning line in Ft Grard. We erroneously posted on the first day of registration, that U13/U15 would be allowed to shoot 60 CM faces. That was wrong and we corrected it, but not before some had already registered. We failed to check that there were already shooters in that category and they shot on 60 CM faces. We moved them to a separate division so as to not compare them to 40 CM shooters.

Please remember, the Director of Shooting, Tournament Director or Head Judge holds precedent on the playing field. They have the final say on what target can be shot or how the tournament is being run. Please defer to their knowledge of the event and follow their instructions.

We are so glad that everyone had a fun time and records were broken.

All new records have been updated, if I missed anyone, email records@texasarchery.org
